Dear ����ɬ���� Students, Faculty and Staff,

Portage and Cuyahoga counties, where ����ɬ����’s Kent Campus, College of Podiatric Medicine, Cleveland Foot and Ankle Clinic and Cleveland Urban Design Collaborative are located, recently moved into the “high” community level designation for COVID-19 as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In addition, Trumbull County, where ����ɬ����’s Trumbull Campus is located, remains at a “high” community level designation.

����ɬ����’s Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement launched the university’s most ambitious fundraising campaign, called Forever Brighter, last October, creating communications and fundraising materials that share the remarkable impact of alumni engagement and donor philanthropy on the university. The division has earned 19 marketing and communications awards from multiple competitions. 

����ɬ���� has been awarded $1.5 million from the state of Ohio for the Choose Ohio First program that supports students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

This is a reminder that face coverings are now required indoors at ����ɬ���� at Trumbull.

Masks are required indoors on the Trumbull Campus except while working alone in an enclosed space, such as a private office or lab.

Alvacir Wesley Kalatai Alberti of Imbituva, Brazil, is the first student to graduate from the American Academy, a dual-enrollment program offered jointly at ����ɬ���� and the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana, located in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine has appointed Haley Dees of Lisbon, Ohio, to the ����ɬ���� Board of Trustees as an undergraduate student trustee. Dees’ two-year term runs through May 16, 2024.

The Reinberger Children’s Library Center at ����ɬ���� has become the new home of the Scott O’Dell Award for Historical Fiction, assuming the role formerly held by the Center for Children’s Books at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Established in 1982, the annual award of $5,000 goes to an author of an historical fiction novel for children published in the previous year and set in South, Central or North America.

����ɬ���� will be closed on Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, July 5.
