HR Question of the Week: Will ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ conduct another child car seat safety inspection this fall?

The Division of Human Resources is pleased to co-host its second child car seat safety inspection of 2016 on Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 3-6 p.m. at ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s Child Development Center, located at 775 Loop Road in Kent.

Four out of five car seats are installed incorrectly. Keep your child safe by making sure your child’s car seat is properly installed. If you have more than one car seat or base, feel free to have them each inspected. 

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians from the Portage County Health Department will conduct child car seat inspections. ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Police Department representatives also will be on hand to answer any safety-related questions you may have. Additionally, there will be a small health fair with representatives from local health and wellness service providers.

We encourage you to reserve your appointment today! Individuals without an appointment will be accommodated as time permits on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Join the FlashFit Winter MOVChallenge

The FlashFit Winter MOVChallenge is open to all full- and part-time faculty and staff, and it is designed as our 29-day (Leap Year) Challenge, beginning Feb. 1.

Ohio Attorney General Announces Grant to ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s Office of Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services

On Dec. 29, the Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced an award of more than $1.2 million in grants to support and assist those impacted by sexual violence on college campuses in Ohio. ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s Office of Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services received more than $90,000 to employ a university advocate to assist people impacted by sexual violence.

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½'s holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
