For ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Honors College senior Lexi Moses (they/them), storytelling isn’t just an academic pursuit—it’s a lifelong passion and a vehicle for advocacy. As the 2024-2025 recipient of the Dr. Elizabeth Howard Memorial Honors Scholarship, Lexi, a double major in English and Gender and Sexuality Studies, embodies the scholarship’s mission to financially support students with intellectual curiosity while also reflecting some of the academic and creative interests of Professor Howard. With a deep dedication to equity and inclusion, Lexi’s academic journey has been as inspiring as it is interdisciplinary, blending a love of literature with a drive for social change.

Meet Allison Remick, a junior pre-veterinary zoology major with a minor in vocal music and a member of the Honors College from Grove City, Ohio. Her career dream is driven by her deep passion for animals and a desire to make life better for creatures that can't speak for themselves.

Building Support for Affordable Course Materials
ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ understands the financial impact course materials have on students and is taking measures to reduce those costs to Golden Flashes. University Libraries hosted the 2024 Affordable Course Materials Summit, the fourth of its kind, aiming to promote the use of inexpensive course materials among faculty.

Ohio voters backed red in both major national races in casting their ballots in the 2024 general election. For the third time, voters supported Republican Donald Trump for president while also sending newcomer Bernie Moreno to the U.S. Senate.

Honoring All Those Who Serve: ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Holds Annual Veterans Day Observance
ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ invites all to pay tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces and attend the university’s annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The event will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, at the Student Green on the Kent Campus.

From Public Health Graduate to Air Force Epidemiologist
Victoria Bylsma said it only took about two hours after a mentor suggested she look into a graduate degree in public health for her to know what she wanted to do with her career. Today, the ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Master of Public Health graduate helps to protect service members’ health and readiness as an injury epidemiologist at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Dayton.
