Conners Finishes Tied for Eighth at Masters

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ alumnus Corey Conners finished tied for eighth at the 2025 Masters Tournament after struggling to a 3-over par final round Sunday at Augusta National Golf Club.

Conners, who was in contention through Saturday's third round, fell out of the title chase early Sunday when he missed a short par putt on the opening hole.

The 33-year-old Canadian added another bogey at the par-3 fourth before rallying with birdies on the seventh and eighth holes. His approach on No. 7 stopped inches from the cup, while he two-putted for birdie on the par-5 eighth.

This marks Conners' fourth top-10 finish at the Masters in the last six years, continuing his impressive record at Augusta National. The result also represents his fifth top-10 finish of the 2025 PGA Tour season, surpassing his total from 2024.

On Thursday, Conners’ performance represented a historic moment for Canadian golf, as he became the first Canadian to sit in the top three at The Masters through Round 1 since Stan Leonard in 1959 – nearly seven decades ago, according to Sportsnet Stats.

The 33-year-old surged late in the first round, recording three birdies in the final four holes. Overall, Conners carded five birdies against a single bogey on Thursday. On Saturday, he positioned himself four strokes behind leader Rory Mcllroy heading into Sunday's final round.

Conners’ strong showing comes as his longtime coach, Herb Page, continues to support him from afar while battling health issues. Page, the legendary former ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ golf coach who retired in 2019 after 41 years at the helm, has been instrumental in Conners’ development since his collegiate days.

During his time at ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ (2010-2014), Conners was a standout performer, earning All-America honors and twice being named the MAC Golfer of the Year. The Listowel, Ontario, native was also a two-time Academic All-American, demonstrating excellence both on the course and in the classroom. Last year, Conners represented Canada in the Paris Olympics, marking another significant achievement in his career.

Entering this year’s Masters, Conners had already compiled an impressive 2025 PGA Tour season with four top-10 finishes, including a third-place result at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a T-5 at The Sentry. The two-time PGA Tour winner has made the cut in eight of his first nine starts this season.
