STARS Struck: ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Sustainability Improves University Rankings
ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ has earned an AASHE STARS Silver rating for its ongoing commitment to campus sustainability, a step up from the bronze rating on the past submission, thanks to the Office of Sustainability and its numerous initiatives.

Volunteers with skills in repairing clothing, household items, electronics, furniture, small appliances and more will be available to help people who bring in broken or non-working items at the Fix-It Kent Community Repair Workshop on Sept. 18.
Museum Receives Grant for Historic Building Energy Audit
The ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Museum has received an award from the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation to fund a comprehensive energy audit of its historic 1928 building, Rockwell Hall. The audit will evaluate the building’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and provide recommendations for sustainable facility improvements.

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Board of Trustees Approves Establishing Aeronautics and Engineering Schools
The ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of two new schools – the School of Aeronautics and the School of Engineering – within the College of Aeronautics and Engineering during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held June 25, 2025, on the Kent Campus.
ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s Crawford Hall Earns LEED Silver Certification
An innovative design, energy-efficient systems, water conservation technologies and environmentally responsible construction materials are some of the features that earned Crawford Hall, ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s newest – and largest – academic building, LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
