Lamar R. Hylton Named ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s Vice President for Student Affairs, Amoaba Gooden Appointed Interim Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ President Todd Diacon announced Thursday that Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., has been selected to serve as vice president for student affairs, effective May 1, 2020. In addition, Diacon has appointed Amoaba Gooden, Ph.D., as the interim vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion, effective June 1, 2020.

On Friday, Jan. 24, members of the ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ community and the general public gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. The university’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration started at 4 p.m. in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. This year’s keynote speaker was Melissa Harris-Perry, Ph.D., the Maya Angelou Presidential Chair at Wake Forest University, television host, author and political commentator.

Steve Harvey, producer, actor, author and former ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ student, is paying it forward by awarding eight of ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s incoming freshmen with scholarships that will cover the total cost of attendance for each student.
