The ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ alumni network again grew its ranks this summer as more than a thousand Golden Flashes got their degrees. ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ held its Summer 2018 Commencement ceremonies for the Kent Campus on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center). The Kent Campus conferred 1,325 degrees.

George R. Newkome, Ph.D., and his wife, Mary Jane Saunders, Ph.D., have pledged $1 million to fund a first-ever professorship in materials science in ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s College of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Newkome is a two-time ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ alumnus.
