Cleveland State University and ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ will co-host a celebration of life for Dr. Michael Schwartz on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. in the Glasscock Family Foundation Ballroom (third floor of CSU’s Student Center). Doors will open to the public at 2:30 p.m. Those who wish to pay their respects but cannot attend in person are invited to view the event via livestream,

Cleveland State University and ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ will co-host a celebration of life for Dr. Michael Schwartz on Thursday, Feb. 8, at 3 p.m. in the Glasscock Family Foundation Ballroom. Schwartz served as president of both universities.

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ will be closed Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. University offices will reopen on Jan. 16, which is also the start of spring classes.

Save the date: The university will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 1 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. 

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½â€™s has been flooded with comments from alumni, former colleagues and friends about Schwartz’s kindness, his work ethic as a leader and educator and his genuine concern for his students.  

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ will be closed from Dec. 22, 2023, through Jan. 1, 2024. University offices will reopen on Jan. 2, 2024. Spring classes begin on Jan. 16, 2024.

Green Flower, an industry leader in cannabis education and training since 2014, is partnering with ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ to launch four new cannabis-related certificate programs to prepare students for the emerging industry in the state.

The ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ alumni family grew by more than 2,300 new graduates as the university held its fall commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2023 were recognized with in-person commencement ceremonies for all colleges and degrees on Dec. 15-16.

The ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a new cybercriminology major within the Bachelor of Science degree at the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held Dec. 6. The new cybercriminology major will be offered fully online, in addition to a mostly online delivery at all ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ campuses.

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½'s top-notch research and R1 status are showcased in a study.

ÇàÄêɬµ¼º½ supporters once again joined together during the university’s Giving Tuesday campaign to raise more than $2.8 million to support a variety of student scholarships and programs.
